June 2026 Payment Update

Settlement payments from the $19 million Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper class action settlement are now reaching approved claimants. Payment amounts and delivery dates may vary by claimant. For the full report and the claimant screenshot, see our June 2026 Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play payment distribution report.

What Is the Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Settlement About?

Fisher-Price, Inc. and Mattel, Inc. agreed to pay $19 million to resolve a consumer class action over how the Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper was marketed and sold. The lawsuit alleged that the product was advertised as safe for infant sleep when, according to the complaint, its design was unsafe for that use. The Rock 'n Play Sleeper was recalled in April 2019. The settlement compensates consumers for economic losses tied to their purchase of the product.

It is important to understand what this settlement does and does not cover. It resolves consumer economic-loss and marketing-related claims only. According to the settlement documents, it did not compensate families for personal injuries, infant deaths, wrongful death, or physical property damage, and the $19 million fund was not intended to do so. Those claims were not released by this settlement and are handled separately. This distinction is covered in more detail below.

Payment Amounts by Claimant Category

The amount a class member may receive depends on whether they currently own or formerly owned the Rock 'n Play Sleeper, the purchase or manufacture date, and whether they have proof of purchase.

Current Owners:
• Documented purchase price for units purchased between October 12, 2018 and April 12, 2019, with proof of purchase (subject to the settlement terms and minimum-payment provisions).
• $60 for qualifying units in that period without proof of purchase.
• $50 for units purchased or manufactured between April 12, 2017 and October 11, 2018.
• $40 for units purchased or manufactured on or before April 11, 2017.

Former Owners (No Longer Own the Sleeper):
• $35 with proof of purchase for units bought between April 12, 2017 and April 12, 2019 (and not returned through the recall).
• $25 with proof of purchase for units bought on or before April 11, 2017 (and not returned through the recall).
• $10 without proof of purchase for those who bought new but no longer own the product.

Recall Participants:
• $10 for consumers who participated in the 2019 recall and received a voucher or a replacement Fisher-Price toy in exchange for returning their Rock 'n Play Sleeper.

Final amounts depend on ownership status, purchase or manufacture date, proof of purchase, recall participation, any required confirmation that the product was disabled, and approval by the Settlement Administrator.

Proof Requirements

Proof requirements vary by payment category. The higher current-owner tier (a documented purchase price) and the former-owner $35 and $25 tiers require proof of purchase. Several other tiers do not require proof of purchase: current owners can claim $60, $50, or $40 depending on the purchase or manufacture period without a receipt, and former owners without proof can claim $10. Recall participants claiming $10 are documented through their recall participation. Where the claim form required confirming the product was disabled or rendered unusable, claimants had to attest to that as part of the process.

Payment Methods

Claimants who submitted their claim electronically through the official settlement website and were approved had the option to receive payment through a digital method, such as Venmo, PayPal, or a digital payment card. Claimants who did not want an electronic payment, and anyone who filed a paper claim by mail, receive a physical check from the Settlement Administrator. Electronic payments, like the confirmed $10 Venmo deposit dated June 15, 2026, generally clear faster than printed and mailed checks.

What Approved Claimants Should Do If Payment Has Not Arrived

If you filed before the deadline and have not yet received a payment, a single confirmed payment in June 2026 does not mean your claim was denied. Distribution typically happens over a period of weeks or months. Practical steps:

• Check the email address you used to file, including spam and promotions folders, for any notice from the Settlement Administrator.
• If you chose an electronic payment, check the Venmo, PayPal, or payment-card account tied to the email or phone number you provided.
• If you chose or defaulted to a check, watch your physical mail.
• If your address, email, or payment account has changed since you filed, update it. Outdated information is the most common cause of a delayed or returned payment.
• For account-specific questions, use the official settlement website's contact page.

Standard Claim Deadline

The standard deadline to file a claim was May 29, 2025, and it has passed. Ordinary claims are no longer accepted on the normal track. If you did not file by that date, you generally cannot file a routine claim now.

Limited Late-Claim Rules

The settlement includes a narrow exception to the standard deadline. A class member who did not receive notice of the settlement, or who was otherwise unaware of it before the claims deadline, may seek to participate after the deadline. That limited late-claim window may run until March 31, 2027, or until the Net Settlement Fund is exhausted, whichever comes first, and it remains subject to the settlement's requirements and administrator approval. This is a discretionary, eligibility-limited path for people who missed the original notice. Claims have not generally reopened.

Settlement Eligibility

The settlement class generally covers consumers who purchased or acquired a Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper, whether they still own the unit or not. Eligibility for a specific payment amount turns on ownership status at the time of the claim, the purchase or manufacture date of the unit, whether the claimant has proof of purchase, and whether the claimant participated in the 2019 recall. Consumers who already received a voucher or replacement toy through the recall remained eligible for a $10 payment under the settlement.

Lawsuit Allegations

The consolidated litigation alleged that Fisher-Price and Mattel marketed the Rock 'n Play Sleeper as safe and appropriate for infant sleep when, according to the plaintiffs, it was not, and that the companies continued to sell the product despite mounting safety concerns until the April 2019 recall. The settlement resolves these consumer marketing and economic-loss claims without any admission of wrongdoing by the defendants.

Personal Injury and Wrongful-Death Claims Are Separate

This is one of the most misunderstood points about the settlement, so it is worth stating plainly. The $19 million settlement resolves consumer economic-loss and marketing claims only. According to the settlement documents, it did not release any claims for personal injury, wrongful death, or physical property damage involving the Rock 'n Play Sleeper. Families pursuing those separate claims are not affected by, and were not compensated through, this consumer settlement. Nothing on this page is legal advice; anyone with a potential injury or wrongful-death claim should consult an attorney.

Recall History

On April 12, 2019, Fisher-Price and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of all Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleepers. The recall followed reports of infant fatalities associated with the product. Consumers were directed to stop using the sleeper and to contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher depending on the unit's age. The recall is the event that ended sales of the product and is referenced throughout the settlement's payment tiers, including the $10 payment available to consumers who returned a unit through the recall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play settlement payments being sent?
Yes. Payments are reaching approved claimants. OpenClassActions confirmed a $10 Venmo payment dated June 15, 2026. Amounts and timing may vary, and not every distribution has necessarily been completed.

How much are the settlement payments?
Amounts are tiered, from $10 up to a documented purchase price, depending on ownership status, purchase or manufacture date, proof of purchase, and recall participation.

Why did some claimants receive $10?
Ten dollars is one of the lower tiers, paid to former owners claiming without proof of purchase and to recall participants who already received a voucher or replacement toy.

Are payments being sent through Venmo, and can they arrive by PayPal or check?
Approved electronic claims could be paid by Venmo, PayPal, or a digital payment card. Other claimants receive a physical check.

What should I do if an approved payment has not arrived?
Check the email you filed with (including spam), check the electronic-payment account you provided or your physical mail, and make sure your contact and payment information is current.

Is the claim deadline over, and can a late claim still be submitted?
The standard deadline (May 29, 2025) has passed. A limited late-claim procedure may allow class members who missed notice to participate through March 31, 2027 or until the fund is exhausted, subject to the settlement terms. This is not a general reopening.

Did the settlement cover personal injury or wrongful-death claims?
No. It resolves consumer economic-loss and marketing claims. Personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage claims were not released and are handled separately.
