What is the Gen Digital LifeLock Norton Robocall Settlement?

If you received a robocall with an artificial or prerecorded voice on your cell phone from Gen Digital regarding a LifeLock or Norton account between February 19, 2021 and October 30, 2025, and you did not have a LifeLock or Norton account, you may be entitled to between $200 and $625 from a $9.95 million class action settlement. The lawsuit alleged that Gen Digital violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by using prerecorded voice calls to contact people on their cell phones who were not even customers. Gen Digital denies all allegations and denies that it violated the TCPA. The Court did not decide who is right or wrong. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the time, risk, and expense of continued litigation.

What is the Total Settlement Amount?

A common settlement fund of $9,950,000 has been established. Approved claims will be paid on an equal share basis after administration costs (estimated at $315,400), attorney fees (up to one third of the settlement fund), litigation costs (up to $20,000), and a service award to the class representative (up to $15,000) are deducted, subject to Court approval.

How Do I Qualify For a Payout?

You are included if all of the following are true. Gen Digital placed or caused to be placed a call to your cell phone regarding a LifeLock or Norton account between February 19, 2021 and October 30, 2025. The call used an artificial or prerecorded voice. You did not have a LifeLock or Norton account at the time of the call. The class includes all persons throughout the United States who meet these criteria.

How Much Can I Get Paid?

Each class member who submits a timely and valid claim form is estimated to receive between $200 and $625, depending on the number of participating class members. Payments are calculated by dividing the net settlement fund equally among all valid claimants.

If you did not receive a claim form in the mail but believe you are a class member, you must provide the claims administrator with evidence of having received one or more prerecorded voice calls from Gen regarding a LifeLock or Norton account during the class period, and attest that you were not a LifeLock or Norton customer when you received the calls. The claims administrator will then send you a claim form to complete.

What is the Claim Form Deadline?

April 13, 2026 (online submission or postmark if mailed).

What are the Important Dates?

Opt-Out Deadline: April 13, 2026
Objection Deadline: April 13, 2026
Final Approval Hearing: July 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. (United States District Court for the District of Arizona, Sandra Day O'Connor U.S. Courthouse, 401 West Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85003, Courtroom 504)
Claim Deadline: April 13, 2026

When is the Class Action Settlement Payment Date?

Settlement payments will be sent to class members who submitted valid claim forms no later than 30 days after the judgment becomes final, unless additional time is needed to comply with IRS regulations. If there is an appeal, payment may be delayed.

Is Proof Required to File a Claim?

No proof is required if you received a claim form in the mail, as Gen's records already identify you as a class member.

If you did not receive a notice but believe you qualify, you will need to provide evidence of having received a prerecorded call from Gen regarding a LifeLock or Norton account during the class period, and attest that you were not a LifeLock or Norton customer at the time.

What Happens If I Do Nothing?

If you do nothing, you will not receive a payment, but you will still release your claims against Gen Digital related to the allegations in this case. You will give up your right to sue Gen Digital separately over the same issues. Unless you exclude yourself from the settlement, you will not be able to sue or continue a separate lawsuit against Gen over the released claims.

Is This Settlement Only for Certain States?

No. This settlement covers all persons throughout the United States who meet the class definition. You qualify regardless of which state you live in, as long as you received a prerecorded voice call on your cell phone from Gen Digital regarding a LifeLock or Norton account during the class period and were not a customer.

What Is the Telephone Consumer Protection Act?

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act is a federal law that restricts telemarketing calls, auto-dialed calls, prerecorded calls, text messages, and unsolicited faxes. Under the TCPA, companies cannot use artificial or prerecorded voice messages to call cell phones without the called party's prior express consent. The law provides for $500 in damages per violation and up to $1,500 per violation for willful or knowing violations.
