What the Lawsuit Alleged

The lawsuit alleged that Wipe Out! Wipes, Wipe Out! Multi-Surface Wipes, and Wipe Out! Multi-Surface Decontaminant Spray were labeled and marketed in a way that led consumers to believe the products were safe and legal to use as surface disinfectants even though they were not registered with the Environmental Protection Agency for that use.

Tzumi Innovations denied the consumer lawsuit's allegations and wrongdoing. A separate federal enforcement resolution required a civil penalty and corrective statements about the products' appropriate uses.

Who Was Included

The nationwide settlement generally covered people who purchased one of the three listed Wipe Out! products on or before April 19, 2023, for personal use rather than resale.

How the Cash Tiers Worked

A valid claim without proof of purchase was scheduled at $2 per qualifying product, up to $6. A valid claim with proof was scheduled at $3 per product, up to $15. The agreement allowed proportional adjustments depending on claims and available funds.

Any increased residual distribution depended on remaining money and the settlement terms; it was not guaranteed when claims were filed.

What Former Claimants Should Know

The claim portal is no longer an active filing option. Former claimants should keep any payment record or administrator correspondence. Open Class Actions cannot verify whether a particular claim was approved or arrange a replacement payment.
